Former GUANO APES Drummer Launches TAMOTO
June 18, 2005Former GUANO APES drummer Dennis Poschwatta has posted the following message on the group's official web site:
"First of all, I'd like to extend a huge THANKS! to all of you for staying so loyal to us and continuing to keep this site alive. The fact that GUANO APES are a thing of the past doesn’t mean that I haven't been busy musically.
"With my buddy Markus, alias G-Ball, who previously did some of the APES remixes, I've started a band called TAMOTO. We've been working on our album for a while now with the welcome support of our friends, including Henning [Ruemenapp, ex-GUANO APES guitarist] and Stude [former GUANO APES bassist Stefan Ude]. The CD is as good as finished. Only the artwork is missing, but Friedel and Henning Lisson will begin 'cutting and pasting' with us in the next few days.
"We've decided on 'Beware' for the first single, and last week we shot a hot, sweaty video for the song. Delicioso!.... 'Beware' — the single, or should I say mini-album, will be in the shops starting next month as a digipack featuring four additional songs, with one of those songs only available on this single. And you can also come out and rock with us live. Area4 Festival, Bochum Total, .... But that’s enough self-promo. If you wanna know more, then check out our website, www.tamoto.tv.
"Aside from all that, NDR, together with N-Joy Radio, is presenting an award for the No. 1 Pop Song in and from Northern Germany. And as GUANO APES, we've been nominated with not one, but two songs!! 'Lord of the Boards' and 'Open Your Eyes' are available NOW for voting by Internet users. At www.ndr.de you can vote for the songs for the Finals Ceremony, 'The North's Biggest Pop Songs' on July 23rd on NDR. So — there's more to come.
"I'm looking forward to seeing all of you!"
